Job Description:

As a Bread Baker at Driscoll's Bake House, located in the charming town of West Jefferson, NC, you will be an integral part of our team, dedicated to crafting high-quality, artisanal breads that embody our commitment to excellence and tradition. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare, bake, and manage the production of a variety of bread products while maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Bread Production:
    • Mix, knead, and shape dough according to established recipes and techniques.
    • Monitor dough fermentation and ensure proper proofing times to achieve optimal texture and flavor.
    • Operate and maintain baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, and proofers, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
  2. Quality Control:
    • Conduct regular quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet Driscoll's Bake House standards.
    • Adjust recipes and techniques as needed based on product feedback and seasonal ingredient variations.
  3. Inventory Management:
    • Manage and track inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, ensuring timely reordering and minimizing waste.
    • Store ingredients properly and monitor their freshness and quality.
  4. Sanitation and Safety:
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all health and safety regulations.
    • Adhere to proper food handling and sanitation practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  5. Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other bakers and staff to coordinate production schedules and address any operational issues.
